Today Illi had her first formal karate grading. She has already graded to yellow tip in class, but today we had to go to St Edmunds College for her grading to Yellow belt.
She has been showing great progress and most people know I can be very critical of my childrens' efforts, (mostly because I know when they are not giving 100% even though others think they are!) although in today's grading I think she was equal with 1 other girl for most impressive at white belt level. There were quite a few people grading to yellow belt, so I could compare her to others at her level and even though she is not well (head cold) she still performed very well.
The above pic shows her in action, while the insert shows her receiving her grading certificate. So now she has changed colours, from white with a yellow tip, to a full yellow belt. Congrats Illi!
