Today was quite a big day for a number of reasons...
1. It is the day when I finally got to have the knee surgery I have been waiting for.
2. The kids were coming home from 3 days at camp.
3. It is my birthday.
As I went through the steps of admission, I had to give my name and date of birth. As each person realised it was my birthday, they seemed rather perplexed that I was positive about "giving up" my birthday to have surgery. However, as I kept explaining, it was a great present as I was getting the surgery I had been waiting for AND I had people waiting on me and topping up my drugs as needed!
Further to the above, as I came out of the anaesthetic, I found that the recovery staff had created me some birthday balloons too...how sweet was that!
